vermin vigil block

A placeable vermin-spawning idol. When set down, this block becomes the Spawner Block, an interactive living block that accepts a spawner capsule and keeps nearby vermin active.

Its surface still carries the fleshy Baal-born look of the drop source, but its real value is utility: the placed block can hold up to 8 active vermin at once, with new spawns pulsing out every 4-8 seconds in a short radius.
